What does a Life Coach do?

As your Life Coach, I will help you get perspective on your life and way of thinking.  I will help you make your good life an awesome life.  I will help you to improve any area of your life you want to improve.  I will help you with your relationships, your confidence, your physical well-being, your mental and emotional health and your contribution to the world.  I will help you find out why you don’t already have what you want.  As you work with me, you will come to understand what is causing the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.  Then I will help you to close the gap and solve the problem.  You will discover your ability to create the life you desire and deserve.  

Should I see a psychologist, therapist or psychiatrist instead?

It’s hard to know whether or not to seek professional help.  The following situations are warning signs that might indicate a need for such professional help.

  • You suffer from persistent feelings of overwhelming anger, sadness, fear, emotional pain, or hopelessness.  Regardless of what you do, these feelings remain and are often mentally or physically debilitating.

  • Despite the feelings sometimes coming and going, the issues have continued for many months.

  • You feel physically incapacitated, and your appetite and sleep patterns change.

  • You have an uncontrollable sense of worry and anxiety.

  • You contemplate harming yourself or others.

  • Your ability to function on a day-to-day basis is affected, limiting your productivity.

What can you expect from me?

You can expect that I will listen to you, holding space for you to talk about whatever you want to talk about.  You can expect that you can do so free from worry of judgment or criticism.  You can expect that your time will be your time…I will be 100% yours during your session time.  You can expect that I will ask you lots and lots of questions as I help you to discover what is causing the problem you are trying to solve.  You can also expect that I will not tell you what to do, but rather I will help you learn how to use your amazing brain to find your own answers and solve the problem.  The wisdom and answers are already in your brain, they are simply hidden from your view.  I will help you discover them.  You can expect that I will use every tool and method I have available to help you.  

What will I expect from you?

I expect that you will take your session time seriously and be on-time. You will be free of distractions during your private session.  You will do the work practicing the tools and concepts I will teach you in-between sessions.  You will be gentle and loving with yourself as you discover what has been creating your problem.  Being gentle and loving with yourself can be hard.  Most of us don’t have a whole lot of experience doing that.  I will help you learn how.
